Julie Vinci works in Naarm/Melbourne and completed a Master of Contemporary Art from the VCA in 2019. A Multi-disciplinary artist her works include photography, video, painting and sculptural textile installations. Vinci examines the boundaries of the politicised space of the female body, utilising her own lived experiences as reference to investigate ideas relating to feminism, the body and social justice.
Vinci has held solo exhibitions in Melbourne since 2002 at ARI’s and Public Galleries such as Bundoora Homestead Art Gallery, Westspace, Centre for Contemporary Photography, TCB ART Inc and Trocadero Art Space as well as participating in group shows in Sydney and Melbourne including at Sarah Scout Presents.
In 2021 Vinci was included in the Not Fair Art Fair, she is the recipient of awards from the Orloff Family Trust and received the Dr. David Rosenthal Award and the No Contest Art Prize. She has been shortlisted for various prizes including the Naked & Nude Prize and the Noel Counihan Commemorative Prize.
