How does it all work?
Satellite Projects is a fluid exhibition project with multiple exhibition spaces. We support living Australian artists who lack gallery representation. We rely on the goodwill of our various venues who provide us with walls and spaces in which to exhibit. And we rely on YOU, the buying public, to purchase artworks as this allows artists to keep on doing what they do best.
Can I buy an Artwork?
Yes! Our motto is LOVE IT? BUY IT! and we try to make it as simple as possible for you to acquire an Artwork. All you need to do is click on BUY on the menu above, locate the work you want and then follow the prompts. You might need to wait for the end of an exhibition before you can take the Artwork away, although some Artworks can be purchased and taken away immediately. If you are in a hurry, it’s best to check the availability of the Artwork. Transport of the work is the buyer’s responsibility.
What transport?
Some Artworks are too large, delicate or heavy for regular transport. There are many art transport companies who will carefully freight your new art treasure to its new home. There is a list here.
How do I collect my new Artwork?
So you have taken the plunge and purchased an Artwork? Congratulations and well done for supporting living Australian artists! You will receive an emailed receipt from Satellite Projects. Show that to the staff member and ask them for assistance. If the work is available immediately and small enough, a staff member will remove it from the exhibition and wrap it for you. If you don’t have time, then it can be wrapped and ready for you to collect at a future agreed date.
If the work is large, or heavy we advise you to arrange suitable transport at a time that works for you and the venue. We can assist with this. If you are unsure, please contact us to discuss options before you make a purchase.
Can I find out more about the artist?
Yes! You will receive some basic information in your receipt. Just let us know that you’re interested in more and we will email to you helpful material.
How do I install my new Artwork?
Most of the works are ‘installation ready’ but you will still need some basic tools to hang your new Artwork. If you are unsure, please email us or check out our ask the expert video. You might also consider engaging an Art Installation technician. We have listed a few installers here:
