Debbie Mourtzios

Debbie Mourtzios has worked for almost 4 decades as a practising artist and commercial illustrator. Her work is defined through use of bold expressive colour and line to depict fleeting moments from her daily life in Melbourne and surrounding countryside.

Trained in Graphic Design she has a natural affinity for typography and delights in the vestiges she finds inscribed across the urban landscape. Her observations are developed through the attentive and meticulous process of crafting a linoprint to form an archive of an ever-changing city.

Her work is held in private and public collections including the National Gallery of Australia Print collections, St Vincent’s Hospital, City of Yarra, Monash and Deakin Universities.
