Lucy Hotchin

Lucy Hotchin is a textile artist working and living in Naarm, she creates works using wools, threads and fabric and focuses on tactile making processes. Lucy is an art therapist and person living with mental illness and her artworks are informed by her personal experiences within the mental health system as well as the ways in which we find a sense of safety and make sense of our lives.
She’s been creating and handmaking for the last 4 years and balances her making around her art therapy work. Lucy acknowledges that creating art and handmaking/crafts supports humans in a multitude of ways, she will always advocate for creative expression to process experiences and connect to meaning.
