Zai Kuang has a Bachelor and Masters in Fine Art in Academy of Art & Design, Tsinghua University in China, also he has had Masters (by research) at Monash University in Australia.
He has had 15 solo exhibitions and more than 44 group exhibitions. In Australia, he has won the “Calleen Art Award” and “He Who Dreams Art Prize,” First Prize in “St. Kevin’s Art Show”, Second Prize in “Mentone Art Competition”, and Highly Commend Prize in “The City of Albany Art Prize” and “Willoughby City Art Prize”. He has been a finalist in the Doug Moran National Portrait Prize, the Archibald Prize, the Sulman Prize, Fleurieu Bienale Art Prize, the Albany Art Prize, Redland Art Awards, Willoughby Art Prize, R & M McGiven Art Prize, Lexus Mortimore Priz and the A.M.E. BALE Art Prize.
In China, he was a finalist in the National Young Artist Exhibition, the 8th National art Exhibition, the second National Still life exhibition and the National Sport Exhibition. He has a number of works in public collections including Cowra Regional Art Gallery, BHP Billiton, Monash University, Macquarie University, and private collections worldwide.
